Factoring Quadratic Expressions is for learners that can already factor and are ready for a challenge. There are 36 questions in total across two sections and an extension.
Throughout section A, learners will need to manipulate the expressions before factoring by combining like terms, or expanding a set of parentheses and simplifying. Expressions to be factored include those with a coefficient of x squared greater than 1.
Then in section B , students will factor using the difference of two squares. The section again progresses to include expressions which need to be manipulated before being factored. This can involve taking out a factor before the difference of two squares can be used.
