Suitable for Grades: 1st Grade, 2nd Grade
CCSS: 1.G.A.2, 2.G.A.1
CCSS Description: Compose two-dimensional shapes (rectangles, squares, trapezoids, triangles, half‑circles, and quarter‑circles) or three‑dimensional shapes (cubes, right rectangular prisms, right circular cones, and right circular cylinders) to create a composite shape, and compose new shapes from the composite shape.
Recognize and draw shapes having specified attributes, such as a given number of angles or a given number of equal faces.5 Identify triangles, quadrilaterals, pentagons, hexagons, and cubes.
3D Shapes is a cut and sort activity. Learners have six 3D shapes to cut out on page one, these shapes need to be stuck in the correct box on page two. Learners will match each shape to its name and then answer questions such as how many faces and vertices the shapes have. The 3D shapes on this worksheet are: Cube, Prism, Cylinder, Sphere, Cone and Square-based Pyramid.
