Understand that in adding or subtracting three-digit numbers, one adds or subtracts hundreds and hundreds, tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose or decompose tens or hundreds.
Fluently add and subtract within 1000 using strategies and algorithms based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction.
These addition grids enable children to understand the commutative property of addition as they find the sum of numbers at the top of each column and start of each row.
students will start by adding multiples of ten to a single digit and will progress to adding multiples of ten to 2 digit numbers. There are 36 questions to answer in total and all answers are within 100.
