Students are encouraged to use two slightly different methods for column multiplication of a three digit number by a single digit throughout this worksheet.
Questions are structured so that they progress from multiplications requiring no regrouping to harder multiplications with 3 exchanges. There are 14 multiplications for students workout in section A and square grids are provided with each question.
Section B consists of some problem solving questions including working backwards from an answer to discover the question and deciding when using the column method for multiplication is appropriate.
