Suitable for Grades: 2nd Grade
CCSS: 2.NBT.A.3, 2.NBT.B.7
CCSS Description: Read and write numbers to 1000 using base-ten numerals, number names, and expanded form.
Add and subtract within 1000, using concrete models or drawings and strategies based on place value, properties of operations, and/or the relationship between addition and subtraction; relate the strategy to a written method. Understand that in adding or subtracting three-digit numbers, one adds or subtracts hundreds and hundreds, tens and tens, ones and ones; and sometimes it is necessary to compose or decompose tens or hundreds.
Learners can practice column subtraction of up to three digits with regrouping throughout this worksheet. In section A the column subtractions are pre-drawn on individual square grids for your students to simply answer on the worksheet or copy into their books. Then students will answer four subtraction questions but are required to put the numbers into the correct lay out in order to do so. Finally, section C asks children to write two previous answers using words.
