Converting Fractions, Decimals, and Percents (C) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
Aimed at challenging students on the essential skill of FDP conversions, this worksheet offers learners chance to convert fluently between decimals and percentages, use knowledge of equivalent fractions to convert fractions to percentages, and to use division to convert fractions to decimals.
It is split into four different conversion tables, the first of which asks students to convert between decimals and percentages, including decimals to 3 decimal places, by using their understanding of the equivalence between the two. The next table lists fractions all with denominators that are factors or multiples of 100, enabling students to use their knowledge of equivalent fractions to convert between fractions and percentages.
In table 3, your learners will convert between fractions and decimals, either using the skill mentioned above, or by understanding fractions as division and subsequently carrying out the division to reach a terminating decimal equivalent. Finally, table 4 is all about fractions that are equivalent to recurring decimals. Here, students may use knowledge such as 0.72 (recurring) = 72/99, or they may use an algebraic method.
