Creating Equivalent Ratios (A) WORKSHEET
Use proportional relationships to solve multistep ratio and percent problems, including simple interest, tax, markups and markdowns, gratuities and commissions, fees, percent increase and decrease, and percent error.
Creating Equivalent Ratios (A) WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet gives a scaffolded approach to solving ratio problems involving converting two two-part ratios to a single three-part ratio. Section A leads learners through a structured process to find a common multiple which will give the final three-part ratio. Section B provides more problems similar to section A, but with blank tables and no scaffolding. Section C then introduces the problem of the ratio of distances between four points on a line. A diagram and structured process are provided for each question. Section D then provides some worded problems which will require use of the processes used in the earlier sections.
