Estimating Values of Square and Cube Roots WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet is perfect for helping learners with their understanding of powers and roots, and also strengthens the important skill of estimation. Section A starts the worksheet by providing some number lines to help learners think what whole number values some square roots would lie between. Section B then asks learners to complete a table about cubes and cube roots. Section C then requires learners to think about sensible intervals for answers to square and cube roots. Section D has a short matching exercise, and the worksheet finishes with an extension questions asking learners to estimate the answer to an equation.
