Introducing Ratio WORKSHEET
Decide whether two quantities are in a proportional relationship, e.g., by testing for equivalent ratios in a table or graphing on a coordinate plane and observing whether the graph is a straight line through the origin.
Introducing Ratio WORKSHEET DESCRIPTION
This worksheet introduces learners to ratio and thinking about multiplicative relationships between different sets of black and white counters. In section A, pupils will fill in blanks in sentences such as “For every 8 black counters there are 4 white counters”. Following this, students will decide whether statements about sets of counters are true or false in section B. Double number lines are used in section C as students fill in blanks on three different stacked number lines in order to consider multiplicative relationships. Then in section D, students will construct their own double number lines and use them to solve problems.
