Suitable for Grades: Geometry, IM 1
CCSS: HSG.SRT.A.2
CCSS Description: Given two figures, use the definition of similarity in terms of similarity transformations to decide if they are similar; explain using similarity transformations the meaning of similarity for triangles as the equality of all corresponding pairs of angles and the proportionality of all corresponding pairs of sides.
This sheet is a nice activity for leaners to investigate properties of shapes and their interior angles. Learners are asked to tessellate a selection of triangles, quadrilaterals, and hexagons to see if they can be drawn in a pattern with no gaps. It makes for a nice class discussion and display activity.
