This worksheet focuses on helping learners calculate and compare unit rates in real-world scenarios, all involving fractions. The worksheet is divided into four sections.
In Section A, students will find the multiplicative inverse of unit and non-unit fractions and integers in preparation for calculating unit rates.
Section B guides learners through solving unit problems which increase in difficulty but the context remains the same, promoting understanding of how fractions work within proportional relationships.
Section C challenges students to determine unit rates for given problems such as “A painter paints 3/10 of a room in ¾ of an hour. How much of the room would the painter paint in 1 hour”.
Finally, in Section D students will use unit rates to make comparisons.
